The objective of holding an Ecumenical and International Prayer Vigil in Rome – backdrop to the signing of the first Treaties on 25th March 1957 – is to show that communion, reconciliation and unity are possible, and to uphold the process of European Integration, held back by obstacles caused by divisions among nations and between Christians themselves.
Together for Europe, a force for cohesion, aims at translating fundamental Christian values into tangible responses to the challenges of today’s continent in crisis. We share a hope that on our journey together, the motto of the European Union “United in diversity”, might become increasingly real for the European family of peoples.
