Rome: Europe between memory and prophecy

75 years after the Schuman Declaration, the Together for Europe network in Rome will celebrate Europe Day on 10 May in the Sala della Protomoteca in Campidoglio. This will be followed by an Ecumenical Vigil in the Basilica of Santa Maria in Aracoeli.

Immediately afterwards (scheduled time 18.45) an Ecumenical Prayer Vigil for Europe will take place in the Basilica of Santa Maria in Aracoeli, with the participation of numerous representatives of the Christian Churches present in Rome.

At the conclusion, there will be a “convivial and friendship” moment in a hall adjacent to the Basilica.

From 11 to 13 May 2026, the European Parliament in Brussels came alive thanks to 100 young people from Together for Europe, who had come to meet MEPs and public figures. At a time marked by crisis and division, the initiative sent out a powerful message of hope: to build a Europe capable of peace, unity and solidarity among different peoples, cultures and generations. The highlight was the presentation of an Intergenerational Pact, through which young people and adults jointly committed themselves to restoring the spirit and future of the European project.
